PAN EUROPEAN SEAL PROFESSIONAL TRAINEESHIP PROGRAMME - IELS (PRIVATE LAW)

The Law School of Athens participates in the PAN EUROPEAN SEAL PROFESSIONAL TRAINEESHIP PROGRAMME 
organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office. 
This programme enables graduates of the IELS (Private Law) to apply for a 12-month paid traineeship 
at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) or at European Patent Office (EPO). 
The successful completion of this traineeship is often the beginning of a permanent career in EUIPO or EPO. 
The programme is an initiative of EUIPO / EPO. 
More than 90 universities in Europe -including some of the oldest and most famous European universities, 
such as the Sorbonne, Cambridge, Munich-, participate in this programme. 
As part of the programme, the Law School will have the opportunity to propose to EUIPO / EPO IELS graduates 
as candidates for a paid twelve-month internship. 
The final selection is made by EUIPO / EPO.

Ideal Profile of the Pan-European Seal Trainee:
• The EUIPO candidates must have completed at least one online course from the EUIPO’s Academy Learning Portal 
or EPO e-learning courses programme. 
• A minimum certified CEF B1 level (Common European Framework of reference for languages) 
in at least one of the five working languages of the EUIPO (DE, EN, FR, IT, or ES) 
or one of the three working languages of the EPO (EN, FR or DE).

Moreover, in terms of this programme, EUIPO and EPO provide Law School students 
access to online alternative educational material related to their specialty. 
There is also the possibility of mutual cooperation for the cultivation and 
dissemination of intellectual property law.
