Dimitrios Ladas was born in Tripolis (Arcadia/ Greece) in 1965 and lived there until the age of 18 when he graduated from High School. He studied in Athens and received his law degree in 1988 from the Law Faculty of the University of Athens. He obtained his PhD (Dr. Jur.) at the Free University of Berlin in 1993. Upon completion of his doctoral studies he served his military service as a reserve officer.
He joined the Law School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in July 2011 as a Lecturer in Law. Since January 2019 he is an assistant professor.
Dimitrios teaches Individual Labor law, Collective Labor Law, Law of the Enterprise, Seminar of Labor Law and several Erasmus Program Lessons at the undergraduate level, as well as Special subjects of the enterprise law, Maritime law and Special matters of general transaction terms at the graduate level.
Since 2012 he participates in the annual National Congress of Labor Law. In 2013 and 2016 he also participated in the Congress of the Association of Commerce Law.
Dimitrios is the author of various monographs and articles (published in Greek and German Law Journals), while he has also participated in collective works. His main publications include: The Effect of the declaration of intent across from language ignorant (1993); The application of the law 2251/1994 (Law for the Consumer Protection) at the work relationship (2007); The Boycott of the Trade Unions and Consumer Associations (2010); The Banking Transactions (2016) (Collective book/ publisher); Out of Court Debt Restructuring (Law No. 4469/2017) 2018 (Collective book/ publisher); Personality rights of employees, 2018; Labour Disputes Procedural Issues (Collective book/ publisher) 2019; Elements of Civil and Commerce Law (2019).
Dimitrios is a member of the Athens Bar Association since 1990 and currently a Barrister at Areios Pagos (Supreme Court of Greece). He is an attorney at law at the legal department of the National Bank and Director Attorney at law of the legal department of the National Insurance S.A.
His practicing areas include Company Law, Labor Law, Banking law, Private Security Law, Commerce Law and Civil Law
He has been teaching (and examining) Civil and Commerce Law at the Institute of Education of Certified Public Accountants since 2000.
He speaks Greek (native), German and English.
He is married and has one daughter.
