STUDENTS' VISA

Students who are citizens of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland do not need a visa to enter Greece for study purposes, provided they hold a valid passport or identity document.

Students from non-EU countries or countries outside the Schengen Area are required to obtain a student visa (National Visa – Type D) before their arrival in Greece.

Prospective students who are required to apply for a student visa are strongly advised to start the visa application process as early as possible, as the time required for the completion of the procedure may vary depending on the country of origin and the relevant Greek authorities.

For the issuance of the student visa, admitted students will receive an Official Letter of Acceptance from the LL.M. Secretariat Department by e-mail. Students should contact the nearest Greek Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence in order to be informed about the required supporting documents and the formal application procedure (Greek Missions around the world can be found at: http://www.mfa.gr/en/appendix/greece-bilateral-relations/a.html).

You can find more information regarding the national visas at the site of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affaires.

The visa application must be submitted in person (and by email if necessary) to the competent Greek diplomatic authority, together with all required documents, the Letter of Acceptance, as well as the proof of payment of the deposit fee for the LL.M. programme.

Please note that all costs related to the visa application and issuance are covered by the student’s own resources.
