PROFILE

A graduate of University of Athens School of Law (1992), he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton, Faculty of Law (1999), a LL.M. degree from Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A. (1995) and a LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law, New York, NY, U.S.A (1996).

He is a Member of the Piraeus Bar Association, Member of the Board of Directors and Special Secretary of the Hellenic Maritime Law Association, Member of and Rapporteur to the Standing Committee of CMI on the Implementation and Promotion of Maritime Law Conventions, Member of the Hellenic Insurance Law Association, Member of the the Hellenic Scholars’ Association of Commercial & Business Law and the Association of Greek Commercial Law and.  He has lectured on shipping law in the University of Piraeus, Department of Maritime Studies (2000-2005) and on company law in the University of Southampton MBA Programme.

His publications include monographs, chapters in collective books, and articles. Main publications include: Over-The-Counter Derivatives: “Bett” and “Transaction” in Investment Contracts (2013) (in Greek); The Duty of Disclosure in Insurance Law (2005) (in Greek); The Single Ship Company: The Legal Consequences from its Use and the Protection of its Creditors, (Athens 2000) (in English); The International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the Rule of Attribution in Corporate Criminal Responsibility Under English Law (Athens 2000) (in English). His areas of interest include insurance and financial law, maritime law, international trade law, company law and law of commercial contracts. He teaches and/or participates in the teaching of law of negotiable instruments (Fall 2020), insurance law, maritime law at the undergraduate programme and marine insurance law, international trade law and company law at the postgraduate programme.
